Denture Services

We have an in house denturist who works side by side with our dental professionals.  They work together to create and complete your individual treatment plan.  This allows for coordination of appointments for convenience, fewer appointments and reduces the time needed to complete treatment.  If there are any concerns, they can be better addressed in a timely manner, and no referrals are needed to another provider.  We have flexible, extended hours and our practice is wheelchair accessible.

Denture (FAQ)

How much do Dentures cost?

The price of dentures varies according to the option you choose, how many teeth are missing, the amount of bone loss that has occurred, and whether you choose to get implants. We have a Denturist on site who works together with our Doctors, in order to keep costs and appointments to a minimum. At Kelowna Dental Centre, we work with you to find the best option that fits your needs.

What are “Snap-On” Overdentures?

Snap-on or overdentures are traditional dentures affixed to carefully spaced implants, called implants supported dentures. Too many people who have conventional dentures don't wear them for the simple fact that they don't stay in place. Dental implants offer a way to keep dentures in place and allow you to go about your daily life with confidence.

Are Dentures permanent?

Dentures that are cemented or bonded to adjacent teeth or dental implants are permanent dentures. This is a great option if you are missing several teeth in a row.

what are the benefits of Implants Supported Dentures over traditional Dentures?

Implant Supported are an excellent alternative to traditional dentures, which rely on suction to stay in place. Snap-on dentures results in more stability and added comfort for patients, deter bone loss and helps maintain the integrity of the facial esthetics. Other benefits include;

• Restores proper chewing, allowing a better diet and improved health
• Improves speech and confidence
• Increases comfort with less irritation of gum tissue
• Ends the cost and inconvenience of denture adhesives
• Often can utilize your existing denture
• Minimally invasive procedure

Are Implants Supported Dentures effective?

Millions of people around the world are missing enough teeth to require the use of a denture. Many of them struggle to keep their dentures secure, particularly in the lower jaw. If you have this problem, you already know about the embarrassment of slipping dentures, not being able to eat the foods that you love and the ineffectiveness of denture adhesives. Fortunately, there is a way to make your denture work the way it was intended: stabilize it with dental implants.

The use of dental implants to stabilize dentures has proven to be successful for many people. The number continues to grow as word spreads about the effectiveness and long-term durability of the treatment. In fact, it has been reported that dental implants have the highest success rate of any implanted surgical device.
